About us

The great potential of genome editing technologies is being explored at an accelerating rate with advances published daily in the field. As such, Texas A&M University’s Genome Editing Symposium (GES) began in 2018 as an annual event inspired by this rapidly evolving field and the need to bring scientists together to discuss their latest discoveries. We are proud to be an entirely graduate student-run single-day research symposium hosting guest speakers and travel scholars from institutions across the U.S., as well as lightning talks and poster competitions from our very own A&M graduate students. We have hosted distinguished faculty and industry leaders in this growing field, and we also facilitate networking opportunities for graduate students. Curious and interested individuals are highly encouraged to register for our symposium to learn what the buzz in genome editing is all about!

Our mission

Our mission is to bring researchers together to share discoveries on the frontiers of genome editing across the life sciences. We strive to provide a unique and fulfilling experience, with distinguished keynote speakers, networking opportunities for attendees, travel scholarships for outside students to visit and present research at Texas A&M, as well as poster competitions for Texas A&M graduate students and researchers to present their findings. We are committed to the mission that speakers and attendees leave our symposium with new insights and inspiration for their own scientific pursuits.

We hope to see you at this year’s Genome Editing Symposium!
