Serina is a second-year graduate student in the Interdisciplinary Genetics Program here at Texas A&M. She works in Dr. David Stelly’s lab studying recombination, introgression, and genetic diversity in cotton. She recieved her BS in the spring of 2019 from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in Molecular and Cellular Biology with a minor in Art and Design. While science is her favorite thing, she also loves painting, graphic design, and writing, and hopes to go into science communication one day as a career.
