Barbara Rodrigues is a Ph.D. candidate in Plant Pathology and Microbiology at Texas A&M University. Her research focuses on understanding the mechanisms underlying plant cell death and signaling networks in host immunity (Cell surface receptor-like kinases and small peptides recognition). Barbara is also working on a cell death suppressor screening with the help of a transient and reliable technique called Virus-induced gene silencing (VIGS). Prior to joining A&M, Barbara got her Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology and a MS in Genetics and Biochemistry from the Federal University of Uberlandia, Brazil.
